The MoU Signing of GENERASI ANTUSIAS program

   

Collaboration of Pontianak Post, Mercure Pontianak, Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa and ECPAT Indonesia

 

 

 

 

Pontianak, May 2010 – Pontianak Post and Mercure Pontianak, together with Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa and End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purpose (ECPAT) Indonesia officially announced their commitment to co-operate in concern toward education, especially in Pontianak and West Kalimantan, by providing positive and educative activities. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony will be held at Mercure Pontianak on Saturday, May 8th 2010.

The MOU signing ceremony is to build relationship between the four parties involved to participate in a project that they have jointly develop together, called Program GENERASI ANTUSIAS Pontianak Post, Mercure Pontianak, Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa dan ECPAT Indonesia”. This program will run for 8 months, from May until December 2010. This program has 4 objectives: to show Mercure Pontianak & Pontianak Post’s commitment on education, appreciation for talented students, helping the child trafficking victims and to give children the right to have good education chances.

“The MOU signing between Pontianak Post and Mercure Pontianak is a good step towards to showing our sympathy to the children especially in terms of education. This program is also supported by Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa and ECPAT Indonesia” said Ardi Wilson, General Manager of Mercure Pontianak.

This MOU will be signed by Mr. Untung Sukarti - Director of Pontianak Post, Mr. Ardi Wilson – General Manager Mercure Pontianak, Mrs. Ade Noerwenda, Chairperson of Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa and also Mr. Achmad Sofyan, the National Coordinator of ECPAT Indonesia.

“Each week, a winner will get the chance to learn about Hotel hospitality and career, and participate in educative activities which will be good for their future. For example, learning to cook or learn how to be a Receptionist” adds Mr. Untung Sukarti, Director of Pontianak Post Group.

At the end of the program in December 2010, all weekly winners will be judged again as the winner of Mercure Youth Scholarship 2010. Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa will use the monetaryaid given by Mercure Pontianak for the winner of this scholarship program and 1 child trafficking victim. ECPAT Indonesia will arrange on the usage of prize money to be given to the child trafficking victim and submit the monthly report to Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa , Mercure Pontianak & Pontianak Post.
